SYNOPSIS:
The film is based on unique and exclusive interviews with the heroine, which were recorded and shot during the last days of her life. Ms. Sendler tells her story of saving the lives of the poorest children imprisoned behind the walls of the Warsaw ghetto. She recounts the complex of life- risking procedures of giving the children new identities, falsifying their documents, ways of smuggling them outside the confines of the ghetto and ultimately finding these children relatively safe haven in Polish homes and families. The story is depicted using film resources from Polish, US and Russian archives, and supplemented by feature film sequences.
